Community Threads

Our project, "Community Threads," embodies the spirit of collaboration and community empowerment. Recognizing the importance of local expertise, we partnered with skilled instructors from within the Ruyigi community to provide ongoing sewing training sessions for groups of 25 women. Each group undergoes a comprehensive three-month program to learn sewing skills and entrepreneurship.

Through "Community Threads," women are not only equipped with sewing machines but also connected with mentors who guide them through the intricacies of the craft. Alongside practical skills, they receive valuable insights into entrepreneurship, fostering a sense of ownership and self-reliance.

This initiative underscores our commitment to harnessing the collective strengths of the community to drive positive change. By supporting local teachers and empowering women with marketable skills, "Community Threads" is not just a project—it's a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of the Ruyigi community, with each group contributing to the ongoing progress and sustainability of the initiative.
